On my quest to find the Tastiest Paneer Bhurji recipe, I found a lot of recipe’s some were even very good but they were always lacking the Kick that you usually get from the Dhaba’s recipe and Salman Khan’s movies. So I set of out to find the perfect way to cook Paneer Bhurji without over complicating the process.
Finally after months of trying this recipe on my poor wife and unsuspecting friends I was able to recreate the Masterpiece as served in the most Authentic Indian Dhaba’s. They Key is to use fresh malai paneer and certain whole spice’s.

Paneer Bhurji ~ Dhaba Style !!
Ingredients
- Paneer - 200 Gm
- Onion - 1 Big
- Tomato - 1 Medium
- Green Chili - 3
- Ghee - 2 Tbsp
- Garlic - 1 Tbsp
- Ginger - 1 Tbsp
- Cinnamon - 1 Inch
- Cloves - 4
- Black Cardamom - 1
- Coriander Seeds - 2 Tsp
- Dried Red Chili - 1
- Cumin Seeds- 3 Tsp
- Saunf / Fennel Seeds - 1 Tsp
- Hing / Asafoetida - 1/2 tsp
- Coriander Powder - 1 Tbsp
- Salt - 1 Tbsp
- Kasoori Methi / Dried Fenugreek Leaves - 2 Tsp
- Garam Masala - 1 Tbsp
- Saunf / Fennel Seeds Powder - 1 Tsp
- Cilantro - To Garnish
For Cashew Paste
- Cashew Whole - 10
- Milk - 2 Tbsp
Instructions
Cashew Paste
- Grind Cashews with milk into fine paste.
Paneer Bhurji
- In a pan , Add Ghee, Cloves, Black Cardamom, Cinnamon, Coriander Seeds, Dried Red Chili( Split into 2), Hing, Cumin Seeds. Saute for 2 to 3 minutes till Cumin crackles.
- Add Garlic and Ginger. Saute till the raw fragrance of Ginger and Garlic disappears.
- Add Onion and Green Chili's. Cook till Onions turn pink.
- Add Red Chili Powder, Coriander Powder and Saute for 2 minutes.
- De-seed the Tomato.
- Add Saunf, Tomato and Salt. Cook till Tomato's become soft.
- Add Cashew Paste , Cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add Kasoori Methi, Mix well.
- Mash the Paneer and add to the mix. Cook for 3 minutes.
- Add Garam Masala and Fennel Seed Powder. Mix Well and cook for 2 more minutes.
- Garnish with Cilantro.
