Quick Bhindi Recipe – How to make Bhindi Sabzi Dhaba Style !!

How to make Quick Bhindi Sabzi Recipe Dhaba Style –  Bhindi Okra is a very popular vegetable especially among the kids. This is probably the most cooked vegetable in any Indian household. There are many ways of making this dish, I am sharing a quick way of making Bhindi Sabji Dhaba Style. Made with very few ingredients.

Serve this recipe with hot Chapati’s and Dhaba Style Vegetable Raita !! 🙂

Bhindi Fry

Ingredients

  • Mustard Oil - 5 Tbsp
  • Onions - 1 Cup
  • Green Chillies - 4 
  • Haldi / Turmeric Powder - 1 Tsp
  • Bhindi - 4 Cups
  • Salt - 1.5 Tsp
  • Dhaniya / Coriander Powder - 1 Tbsp
  • Lal Mirch / Red Chilli Powder - 1/2 Tsp
  • Aamchur / Dry Mango Powder - 1 Tsp

Instructions

  1. Heat a pan on medium heat and add Mustard Oil.
  2. Once the oil is hot add Jeera seeds.
  3. When the Jeera seeds starts spluttering add Onions and Green Chillies.
  4. Saute for couple of minutes.
  5. Add Haldi and mix.
  6. Then Add Bhindi and mix well so the Bhindi gets covered in the oil and onion mix.
  7. Add Salt, Lal Mirch, Coriander Powder, Aamchur and mix well.
  8. Turn gas on low and cook for 3-4 minutes, keep stirring every minute so the Bhindi does not stick on the bottom of the pan.
  9. Keep flame on low and cover the pan and cook for 2 - 3 minutes.
  10. Remove lid and stir.
  11. Cover again and cook for 2 -3 more minutes.
  12. Repeat this process 3 - 4 times until the Bhindi is cooked.
  13. You can eat one piece of Bhindi to check if its cooked.
  14. Also you can taste the masala from the stir to check if you would like to adjust the salt and spice level.
  15. Serve hot with fresh chapattis / phulkas and Dhaba Style Vegetable Raita.
